Formed in 2011, Steve is the managing member of Rogers & Associates, LLC (“RA”). The firm provides specialized solutions for principals and institutional owners in the real estate industry and board level advisory work. Steve is currently applying his over 37 years of commercial real estate experience to a wide variety of national and regional real estate companies.

Prior to founding RA, Steve led Parkway Properties as President and Chief Executive Officer from its early development through its move to the New York Stock Exchange (“NYSE”) and the S&P 600 Small Cap Index. Steve provided leadership, policy setting, capital allocation and discretionary fund raising for the REIT. During his 25 year tenure, Parkway was cited for numerous awards and honors including being named A Great Place to Work five times by the Society of Human Resource Management, NAREIT Leader in Light Award, and the Urban Land Institute Award for Excellence.

Before joining Parkway, Steve established his leadership abilities in numerous settings. In 1976 he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi and went on to complete five years in the U.S. Army. While in the Army he quickly advanced from Lieutenant to Captain, was selected for early command and subsequently commanded an infantry company consisting of 160 men. Among his military awards are the parachutist badge, Army Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. Upon completing his military service, he attended Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration earning his MBA with first year honors in 1983.

His numerous current community and business activities include serving as Chairman of the Board of RREEF America REIT II; Independent Director of Cedar Realty Trust (a NYSE REIT); Chairman of the Board of Net Lease Alliance, a national provider of capital to real estate developers; Director of First Commercial Bank, a de novo bank in Jackson he helped found; Trustee for the Walker Family Trust, a private diversified land and investment company; Executive-in-Residence, Millsaps College; Executive Committee of the Boy Scouts of America and a member of Urban Land Institute (ULI).

His past leadership positions include serving two terms on the NAREIT Board of Governors, Chairman of the Board of RREEF America REIT III, President of the Andrew Jackson Council of Boy Scouts of America, State Chairman for Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Director for Goodwill Industries, Vice Chairman and Trustee for the MS Museum of Art, Chairman of the Audit Committee for NAREIT, Finance Chairman for the building of the Jackson Convention Complex Commission appointed by the Governor, and the National Advisory Board for the B.B. King Museum.

Steve and his wife Anne have four adult children. He enjoys traveling with his family, all outdoor activities, hiking, and developing young business leaders.
